In the last couple of months, we’ve put in our first 2 remote offices.  We are using the SRST functionality to have the remote site survive if their WAN connection is gone.  Everyone at the remote site gets a message letting them know they are in an abnormal state.  There was one thing that I never quite understood about SRST:  How does the rest of the company know that you’re not reachable via your internal extension?  

The correct answer is:  they don’t need to know.  You can set up the DNs in your remote offices to ‘Forward Unregistered Internal’ to their DID number and PRESTO!  No one else in the company has to be any the wiser.
